The Taylor Swift calendar has been my go-to calendar for the last few years. Last year she released both a live calendar and a posed calendar and both were excellent. This one is a bit of a letdown as the images are all quite similar. Taylor appears in the same outfit in a majority of the months so there is not as much variety as in years past. All of the shots here are live, in concert shots and in each of them Taylor is wearing a black outfit so it is a bit less vibrant than years past.With that said, the calendar is printed on quality paper and the images are overall crisp and clear. This calendar has a clean layout with the images being the top 1/2 and the dates being the bottom 1/2. I have taken a quick picture of each of the months so you can see exactly what you are getting.Overall, this is a nice calendar for any Taylor Swift fan. The fact that she wears black in each picture does make this calendar a bit less vibrant than some of the past issues but overall still a nice package. Recommended.

We buy our daughter a Taylor Swift calendar every year, because she’s a huge Swiftie. (The whole family is!) Calendar quality is okay, but we don’t like that she’s in the same outfit in nearly every photo. Looks like they shot at one concert, and that was the calendar. We liked last year’s calendar so much better.

We didn't read the book straight through because it does contain a lot of information, instead turning to the page we wanted to learn about and reading just that instead, taking the book in small chunks. My son loved it and exploring all the wonderful illustrations on each page. I highly recommend this book if you have a child interested in astronomy.

I loved the fact that this book came with a star finder so a child could find certain stars. I also liked the glow in the dark stars for a child's room. I got this book along with The Space Encyclopedia by National Geographic and the 2 books together were beautiful and informative. How wonderful that such an informative book can entice children.

Beautifully illustrated, written in a fun and whimsical way. It doesn't read as dry non-fiction, but as a wonderful sky exploration. It covers a lot of information. It is not a book you would read in one reading, but simply choose a subject to go over with your kids. Let's look at the moon! They gobble up the infomation. There is a wonderful star-chart so you can easily find constellations on a dark evening. I wish that was more sturdy. Otherwise, this book is an essential in our library!

We bought this book as a companion to giving our daughter a Celestron Cosmos FirstScope for her 7th birthday. The book is great and both our 7 and 5 year old enjoy reading it (being read to) at night. In some respects, the material is presented more simply that the Cosmos TV series presented material, but at the same time, the book is extremely well written, very educational, and reads well. It has promoted a great discussion about the speed of light, with my children turning the lights on and off to see if they can see light move, and the other night when reading about planets and the solar system, to help illustrate the points being made in the book we all got off the couch and role played as the Sun, Earth, and Moon rotating around each other - it was a great time indeed! The book is beautifully done and the companion star chart and glow in the dark stickers an added bonus! Highly recommended for children who are interested in learning more about the heavens.

This was a gift for the family along with a telescope for Christmas. This book has beautiful illustrations along with informative text. This book teaches about the night sky, solar system, planets, and universe. The book comes with a star wheel and stickers. I am sure my kids will enjoy this book for many years to come. A great introduction to astronomy for kids. I am happy with the purchase, well worth the price paid.

A little complicated for smaller children but will be great as 5 year old grandson gets a bit older.

Both children and adults will enjoy this lovely book. It offers a fun and interesting introduction to many topics having to do with astronomy and familiarizes readers with some of the most influential historical figures in the field. Unlike many books that handle the astronomy, this one offers very approachable hands-on insight - an excellent way to spark interest in other topics like mathematics, physics, chemistry, ecology, and astrophysics. Illustrations are colorful and relevant, and the writing is clear and lively. I noticed a few errors, but overall find this to be an excellent book.

I bought 2 of these books for each family to go along with the two telescopes I bought from Nancy B's Science and the Educational Insigthts Geosafari Jr. Talking Telescope. The book is beautifully made with great pictures and quizzes as well as a hardbound special star gazer that comes out to take outside and find the different constellations depending on the day of the year.

An absolutely amazing book, better than anything Deborah has released before. While her quilting is unique, amazing and brings her quilts to life, it's the applique flowers and the way they're presented that's so euphoric, contrary to another reviewer's comments. The book progresses naturally, from the basics like types of needles and thread to use, getting your applique pieces ready, how to mark your background, how to make those amazingly narrow stems and how to embroider details (3 simple methods!) to 40 pages of precise instructions and photographs of each individual flower - showing you alternate colors and the order of assembly. Absolutely clear, with additional tips interspersed. After all the "how to" pages, the book proceeds to the actual patterns - not just the Euphoria quilt, but the components and what to make with them if you don't want to make a quilt - pillows, table runners, wall hangings. Each pattern gives you the recommended enlargement percentage as well as the names of the individual flowers used and the page number of the flower instructions, so you have instant access if you need a refresher. Most of the photographs show silk fabric, but having made another of Deborah's quilts in cotton, let me assure you that they are equally beautiful, so don't feel you need to use silk. You won't be disappointed, regardless of your fabric choice. Contrary to her original book, the flowers in this one are shown using solid fabrics. Don't let that dissuade you. I'm using batik in my first project, and it looks wonderful. While the patterns might look challenging, they're doable, one flower at a time. Don't be intimidated. I plunged in, and I'm SO glad I did!Have added photo of my first project from the book to show you what one of the pillow patterns looks like in cotton, not silk. This will be quilted before being sewn together.

I have been a Deborah Kemball "groupie" ever since her book "Beautiful Botanicals" was published. Her elegant appliqué designs, reminiscent of Anna Maria Garthwaite's 18th century silk designs, are totally unique and absolutely doable. When her pattern pack "Twilight Garden" was published, I used her floral designs to create my silk quilt "My Version of a Persian," pictured below.When I first saw her "Euphoria" quilt at the 2012 AQS show in Lancaster, I was simply blown away. The ropes in front of this winner prevented me from studying it up close. You can only imagine how thrilled I was when she published a book about it!Not only is this book real EYE CANDY, but a fund of information about how to make your own project. She was extremely generous in providing the reader with patterns of forty fanciful floral designs (many different from the ones in her previous books), eight different pillows, two table runners, three window boxes, a large butterfly quilt, and a miniature. Two full size patterns are part of a pull-out. The rest of the patterns can be enlarged at your nearest copying establishment. Patterns can also be downloaded.Deborah chose to use a mixture of plain cottons and silks for the projects in this book, I find her use of shot (the warp and weft are different tones) cottons and silks especially appealing. They provide an extra sheen to her designs. But there is no reason not to use checks, stripes and floral prints if you like.Deborah's signature use of extensive echo quilting and unique embroidery adds texture to her quilts. Both are described in this book.For all you hand stitchers out there, this book is a MUST HAVE!

I've read to the last chapter. This book is for the people hungry for God, but is the fourth so far in a series where you really should read the other three first, and in correct order (1. The final quest, 2. The Call, 3. The torch and the sword). I think the first one is the best (and this one, The Path, has references to that on which it does not explain, so you have to read it first to see them), and all of them have very good spiritual advice for those who not only want to get closer to God, but also serve Him in the way he wants. I think this books might be something of the best written in that area - especially for those who are open to the prophetic in visions and dreams. Remember to test everything with the bible though, as usuall ;)I final thing. I consider this book the least interesting of the four so far due to more parts with only dialogues and not as many painting images in visions as the other books. Still the lessons you get are as high quality and as I see it spiritual truths that the church in general forgot - maybe not as much in theory - but very much in it's life.By the way. In this book Rick meets both Elijah and Enoch, the two persons in the bible who never died physical death.

Highly recommended. Thought provoking. This is an allegory of the Christian walk; I found it to be strongly coherent with Scripture. It gave me fresh insight to Scriptures which I had perhaps glazed over from familiarity. I found I was underlining a lot. I went back and reread portions because I was fascinated. I don't often go back and re-read like that. Note: this allegory is by Rick Joyner - I've followed him for 20+ years. But I don't recommend the Path because I like Joyner (although I do). I recommend it because I caught the scent of Heaven as I was reading. I perceived the Spirit was in the writing, and was talking to me.

The path was recommended by a friend, and it brought me back to a place i had left behind. It causes me to long again for my walks of intimacy with the lord. Before reading the path I missed knowing the nearness of the father.It rekindled the 🔥 in my soul for him alone. As an intercessor and mentor my hearts desire to see what I see and know what i know from nearness of him was activated. My prophetic anointing of walking with him as i walked this journey with them was activated by the gentle reminders along the way. My best day is a gentle rain, the path softened my heart to return to my first love. Any one wanting a companion to walk with them along the way, the revelation of the father from the path will open the door to the probability

This book was fantastic! I have read Rick's previous books of his encounters and trances and such. This to me was extremely timely and so revelatory. This book convicted me in areas of my life that i really needed. One of the things i have always loved about Rick's books is it is very personally applicable, and big picture applicable. The thing I've always loved about his writings of his revelation is that he will look at himself and apply the revelation to his own life instead of making it big picture first. This book makes you reflect on yourself and become very self aware of issues you may be dealing with (knowingly or unknowingly) and also what the body could be dealing with also. It is an encouraging book that causes you to remember the greatness of God and remember who you are in Him. I love the story too. It's much easier for me to get involved in these books because it seems like fiction, but it's not. (which makes it so much better!) This really brings things to life. Rick is a great writer and I've always loved his humility in his writings.

I like how the author chose a fictional story to portray deep Christian truths. It is not page turning action fiction, but rather takes one on a journey that takes advantage of teachable moments. I read it slowly to savor each part of the journey and the nuggets of truth that are there for every Christian who wants to go deeper in Christ. I highlight and learn with the characters, sometimes stopping to meditate on profound insights. Best read in small increments--a chapter at a time--so you can meditate and see how God may be speaking to you through this book.A little slow going, but that is the true essence of this book. It is a journey that must be taken one step at a time. Highly recommend to those wanting to grow closer to Christ.

For we are living in a time that requires us to be completely devoted to hearing the voice of the Lord and being obedient without hesitation. In this hour, time spent with Holy Spirit, to guide, lead, teach, and comfort us is critical to our very survival, physically and more importantly, spiritually. You will want to hear more of this book, after reading the last page, you will want to know more of HIM. Your desire to know HIM will increase, and your desire to please HIM will be multiplied. HIS love will increase in us, and all you will want to do is spend more time with HIM. The Path, is extraordinarily extravagant in the arena of the Heavenly Realm. Kingdom Purposes in every arena of our lives begin to blossom, as we prepare for the final outpouring and glory of God, to fill the earth!

THe book is most encouraging to my own personal life. It has confirmed many thing that the Lord has already spoken to me.It has also open my eyes to the areas in which I most not fall into. Overhall, the truth shared by Rick Joyner are a richtreasure to those who want to persue the high calling of God. I am already reccomending many to read it.DF

You have got to read this book.It presents some truth in a certain way.But I would have to warn you that in order to fully enjoy it, you need to know your bible as it does not give you any bible verses to refer to and check was is being thought.If you are a person that tends to not commit to what you do, especially to your pursuit of GOD, this might be over the board for you.I am glad that it did explain in other words the life that we are living as those called to intimacy with the Most High.

My ratings for this series have been steadily dropping. It's super unfortunate, because I was beyond excited to get into the meat of the story after finishing the novellas. Heir of Fire was just a long bore. It's one of those points in a long plot where the main character is suddenly shipped away from all of the action, lots of stuff happens while they're away, then they return and have no clue what's going on. I hate that. Celaena is across the sea supposedly on a mission for the king, but she's looking for her Fae family. Meanwhile the rest of the world is falling apart.Heir of Fire started off fine. I was eager to see how Celaena would find the Fae, and what she would learn from them. But the more time she spent there, the more bored I became. For being so awesome at everything else, she certainly sucks at magic. It doesn't help that her teacher, Rowan, has a crappy method. You know, the one where they don't actually tell you how to do anything? They just poke, prod, and generally peeve you off until you explode and do what they want you to do on accident. Yep, that's the way. And we all know Celaena has a temper.So, while Celaena is kind of learning how to do magic, Heir of Fire also jumps between a few other POVs. None of which I cared about at all. Chaol and Dorian are so dull without her. Like, what is their point?! Well, Chaol is actually doing stuff. I just didn't care. But Dorian? I don't even know. I was so not into his little spoiler. It felt so forced and like it was there to give him something to do, when he should have been doing what Celaena is doing: practicing magical control! Then there's these witches preparing for The War Games, and I was so beyond not caring, that I started to skim these parts.Heir of Fire was just disappointing. Things started to get good and interesting at the end because that king is an evil bastard, but as a whole, I was bored. A lot of what I was reading didn't even stick with me, because I simply didn't care. This is not the series I was expecting from the beginning.

Okay, truth...my daughter is 10 and in the 5th grade. Grandpa, an avid reader like myself, went out on a limb and bought the book for her last Easter. We struggle to find books that are in her 8.4-9.5 reading level, have age appropriate content with a plot she has the life experiences to connect to and comprehend, that are also challenging AND interest her...tall order. We have read all the popular series - adore Harry Potter, of course; tore through the "Greggor the Overlander" series, etc. - so even though in previewing the series I noticed it contains some very minor-vanilla...no F-bombs or S$$T level, mature-type language, and there are a couple scenes that hint at an intimate relationship in book 2 (trying not to spoil books), I gave the book a green light. We started reading it together, taking turns reading aloud, and were BOTH immediately, read 30-40 pages at a time, wake up needing to see what happens to Celena, come home from school hoping to fit in a read and "see what Celena has gotten up to now" before dance, hooked like I have never seen her before!!! And while she is an awesome reader, she is not, by any means a sit & read person, preferring to dance, sing, socialize, game, etc...yet another challenge to add to the list. The challenged are important to note because the way Maas has crafted the characters has achieved what NO OTHER series has for my daughter, and that is to draw her in to the point she NEEDS to keep reading, every single day. The characters are beautifully developed to the point where my daughter was crying when she thought her favorite character died, and was angry at who did die. Maas has painstaking developed 3-dimensional characters that are ever evolving, and that are relatable to all ages. She has also created an entirely new setting that is similar enough to other books of the same genre, like Hunger Games (she has read/watched all), yet it is entirely new & fresh. The writing is clear & thought-provoking, and she weaves in asides & flashbacks that challenge and engage readers. We have had the most incredible conversations and my daughter has made multiple connections to other texts, movies, life, and especially music/song lyrics while reading. These connections are the reason I personally & professionally recommend the series to children beginning at age 10 who are reading at a 6.5-7+ grade level, primarily due to the challenging vocabulary. The twists and turns, the co afflicts & themes, character interactions, vivid & selected detailing, and obviously careful/thoughtful word choices make this series, in my opinion, an award winning, best selling series. As a reading specialist and 18 year veteran teacher of struggling readers, I fully give not just this book, but the entire series 5 stars! I could rave on and on...but I don't want to give away a single detail and only, sincerely hope what I have shared has piqued your curiosity enough to give the series a try yourself, along with a loved one, and that through sharing our personal experiences with the books I have helped answer the question of reader age appropriateness & interest level. Buckle up...it's a wild, wonderful ride through Adarlan!Added info for Book 2...Please note: I am reading the series aloud with my daughter, so as we go we just naturally, out of habit, change cuss words to "gosh" and "darn.," and the intimacy scenes were handled as follows: "A., this next chapter has Choal and Celeana interacting like a married couple sometimes do in private. Shall we read or skip?" Reply, "Well, um is it very like detailed?" Me: "Nah, it's pretty vague." A: "Well, I know she shouldn't be doing that stuff because they are not married, but let's just read it...it's not like I'm embarrassed or going to act like that myself...ewwww!" (Love the sweetness this age!) Basically, here is my point and yes I have one... if you take the time to first, preview what you will read with your child later; second, spend the time to read aloud with your child; third, talk to your child & maintain open dialogue, all the time, about everything, just as though they are the adults-in-training they really are (not saying talk like you are buddies, peers, or equals), the content of a fictional novel is not going to become controversial or be outrageous to them, throwing them into a tizzy of misadventure and exploits! So yes, while, the series is for ages 14+, I still maintain that WITH parental supervision/accompaniment, this is an incredible series to read together!
